Roman Bank and Peckover

Last year, the Roman Bank and Peckover division in which you live elected a Reform candidate, Andy Osborn, as your County Councillor.

Andy Osborn, from March, does not live in the Roman Bank and Peckover division and during the last year has shown little interest in doing the job he was elected to do.

Of all the County Councillors, he is second from bottom for attendance at meetings, having missed a third of the meetings he was required to attend. He didn't even bother to turn up to the all-important annual budget setting meeting, where spending allocations are set for the next year and where the amount we pay in council tax is decided.

When the ongoing problem of the Barton Road closure was causing all manner of local difficulties, his actions were so poor that our MP had to step in and get involved to help     resolve the situation. Reform promised a great deal before the election, but Andy Osborn has been conspicuous by his absence. He has done nothing to resolve the woeful state of our roads. In one of the few Council meetings he did manage to attend, he called children in care "evil" and got national attention for that unpleasant and ill-informed remark.

But worst of all, during the election, he engaged in illegal electoral practices by making up complete lies about another candidate. This matter finally went to court this month and Andy Osborn, your Reform Councillor was found guilty.

This means there will now be a by-election, costing thousands of pounds to the public purse. Reform selected a poor candidate who then demonstrated dishonourable and illegal behaviour. This has harmed the Roman Bank and Peckover area both in poor service and in cost.

In the forthcoming by-election please vote for our Conservative candidate. Not only do we need to bring integrity and honour back to the role, but we also need a County Councillor who will work alongside the Conservative team to fight for so many issues we know you all face.
